Just subscribed to Tangle. Thanks for the recommendation!

To Isaac, I am a regular reader of Tangle. I started a little over a year ago after Sarah mentioned Tangle and another Facebook friend recommended it. Like Sarah, I sometimes/often skip down to just read My Take; however, the reason I do that is I feel like I can already predict what the left say and the right say on a particular issue, but I cannot predict what you'll say. I did read the right's take on the SAVE act because I wasn't going to be exposed to it otherwise.

I know this is not what we do here, but I've paused at Isaac's mention of the "micro-penis" debate, and I want to give Sarah more background on the "news story." Because I gotta say, this got really entertaining:

Thanks for the laughs!! Fun fact, Megyn Kelly grew up in a town near me. They recently closed down their Hall of Fame for "reasons." That reason mainly being that Megyn Kelly was in it.

When people talk about the need for greater media literacy, I think that has to include a general overview of how legitimate journalists do their work. Instead of “CNN isn’t covering this story that all the influencers are talking about, obviously it’s some big conspiracy/cover-up” we might get a little more “hey influencer, who are your sources? How are you substantiating your claims? Who did you not talk to about this story?”

I get zero news from anyone going solo and that's where I'm drawing a line. I don't even care if they were a working journalist at some point. I have diversified my coverage to include more international outlets, however. And I still only read news that I have set up to come into my RSS reader.

I enjoyed this conversation and am also of two minds about our current media environment: it’s great to have democratization and also people are out here violating all kinds of journalistic ethics and spreading misinformation, and AI is making it worse.

Le sigh. Nothing can just be easy, can it?

Emily Amick has been saying for years that the far right influencers are being paid by foreign agents. I think that was confirmed by one of them this week.

As a Pantsuit Politics listener and Tangle reader I was so excited for this conversation! And Tangle is on Spring Break this week so it was nice to get some bonus Isaac. Thank you so much for connecting with him and bringing another thoughtful, respectful way of sharing the news to the limelight.
