No kidding!! I’d like to see that juxtaposed against median wages or maybe % of people living below the poverty line for those years as well. Or any other numbers to help understand if the wage disparity also grew during this time (or maybe everyone got wealthier? 🤷‍♀️).

I wonder if it's just that we forget how big a country we live in?

There are about 335,000,000 people living in the United States. So if 23,000,000 of them are millionaires that is just under 7% of the population.

So, if the tidbit said: 6.8% of Americans are millionaires, it sounds different.

Indeed…but our population didn’t triple in that time. According to the 2020 census, there were 281.4 million people living in the US. 7.64 / 281.4 =0.0271 (or 2.71%). 🤯 would be so interesting to learn more! And what do they mean by millionaire? Annual wages? What you have saved/invested? Assets? I work with data so my interest is piqued!
