Mom and Dad’s enthusiasm continues! Thanks for the shout out, Sarah. It really did mean a lot to them but they are even happier to see Pope Leo meet with President Zelensky first. ❤️ We are the helpers of the world, but we are citizens of the world first.

I was rooting for Pierbattista Pizzaballa. Translates into “dancing pizza”. Cue the memes 🤣

I'm Catholic and went into this conclave feeling a lot of trepidation, but seeing this American-born man come out onto the balcony in front of the entire world with a posture of humility and speak of peace and the unconditional love of God was so, SO beautiful, hopeful, and healing. I can't stop thinking about it.

My daughter goes to a catholic high school and they had Chicago deep dish pizza and red white and blue popsicles to celebrate the new pope!

Even though I'm not Catholic, I felt myself so emotional as I heard the reporting on the new Pope. I feel a bit of comfort and hope, two much-needed emotions right now. I pray he leads well and pastors even better.

I had a realization last night that with an American Pope, we now have an American who is potentially more powerful than the president, certainly recognized as a more global authority. I am so curious how this will affect *gestures wildly* everything.

I'm reading the book after I saw the movie. The end of the movie was a surprise but I am not flipping to find out if it was part of the original story. And for the first time in decades with the movie I almost understood the Latin w/o the subtitles (took 4 years of Latin in High School along with 4' years of German but since seminary haven't used much of it)
