Alise! I hope you love Search by Michelle Huneven! It really struck me because I'm on a management team and see the way the people influence each other when we're making decisions together and it's just fascinating. I thought about it again as I was watching 12 Angry Men.
I was honestly disappointed to see Oprah was one of the guests flying in on their private jets. Yes she’s one of the rich, but I just considered her to have more class and taste than that. 🤷🏼♀️
I have 5 (thousand) wildly speculative completely unsubstantiated guesses (and it feels, again, like they want to be talked and speculated about)
- they’re paying people to hang out with them
- maybe Lauren Sanchez is a lot of fun and people like her? (I am unwilling to guess that Jeff Bezos is a lot of fun)
- there is just a different set of rules for the fabulously rich and we just don’t usually see
- with astronomical wealth like Bezos has you don’t get to say no? 😬
I do think, my most generous wish is that they’re a lot of fun and it will be a good, if tacky, party, and everyone is getting what they want from this.
