This week was the official 10th anniversary of our premier episode of Pantsuit Politics. Over our previous birthdays we’ve reflected on what we’ve learned, the podcast industry, and a lot of election results. We were thrilled this week to chat with Delaware Congresswoman Sarah McBride and Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer this week about the elections across the country and their ideas about how we move forward as a country in 2026.
Pantsuit Politics was born because, even in 2015, Sarah and Beth recognized that our political discourse desperately needed #nuance. In the blog post that started it all, Beth wrote
We need a way to acknowledge that the limited characters in our social media discourse don’t always afford space for a complete expression of thought.
So, Sarah and Beth have worked to create that space. Space for our political disagreements. Our feelings. Our messy middles. Our questions. Our mind-and-party changing. Our chaos. And more. All of you have joined us here and helped us make two books, this podcast, and conversations that have spanned the country.
At the end of our live show in celebrating this milestone in Cincinnati, Sarah and Beth shared The Top 10 Reasons we love our listeners.1 We wanted to celebrate and thank all of you today by sharing that list with you.
The Top Ten Reasons We 🤍 Our Listeners
10.🤬 You trust us with your Big Feelings™ 🤬
Whether it’s how a policy impacts you personally, your reaction to an election, an episode, or your favorite vegetable. We appreciate that this is a space where we can bring all our baggage to the table and unpack it together.
9 🧑🧑🧒🧒 You share your people with us 🧑🧑🧒🧒
We love hearing your stories, your victories, your struggles, and we’re so grateful that you feel like our inbox and mailboxes are places that you can share.
8🌏 You’re everywhere 🌏
We love hearing from our listeners across the United States, our emotional support Canadians, New Zealand, Germany, Korea, and all of the places you are.
7🧐 You share your passion and expertise 🧐
Whenever we talk about anything - government contracts, small business, farming, parenting, rocket science, public health, schools, housing, international affairs. You chime in and add your expertise, put us in touch with policy experts, and add depth, nuance, and complexity to all of our conversations. We learn so much from all of you.
6🏡 You love your places 🏡
Wherever you’re from - a small town, a big city, a territory, a faraway country. You love, share, and support your places.
5📚 You’re lifelong learners📚
You all read The January 6th Report, Democracy in America, and now Habits of the Heart with us. We love that you want to dive into the weeds of Project 2025, Public Grocery Stores, the Supreme Court, and more.
4🕺 You know how to have a good time🕺
Whether it’s a karaoke episode, and emergency playlist2, crowdsourcing party ideas, or volunteering for an onstage dance party at our live show, the Spice Cabinet knows how to have fun.
3👩⚖️ You step up 👩⚖️
We love hearing when you run for office3, knock on doors, show up to a protest, vote in your local elections, go to a meeting, host a dinner, show up for your people who are sick. You are the kind of people who do the work that our democracy and society are built on.
2🫶 You influence others 🫶
1🙏 You’re with us 🙏
We know this show has changed a lot with age, the changes in our lives and life stages, and the political winds. You all have grown and changed with us. We’re so grateful for your willingness to be ‘in it’ with us even (especially) when you disagree.

Shout out to Lindsay James running for Congress in Iowa!!!!

Congratulations!! So happy for you both, and grateful for all of your hard work.
I started following in 2015-early 2016 during the presidential campaigns. Pantsuit Politics has been consistency in a chaotic world and something whose voice I could trust was giving me true, factual Information in our ever-increasing disinformation age. When I am burnt out from the emotion, I know Sarah and Beth have done that hard work of distilling truth and getting the story straight and I can feel better knowing I understand. A comfort, a raft in this stormy environment, somewhere I know I am safe to share my thoughts and have intelligent discourse.
I love you both so much. I love this community. (shoutout to the DSM-area Iowa group text!) I am grateful every day I asked my Facebook friends for podcast recommendations and a friend of a friend in law school recommended you. Cheers to 10 and many more years!!! Whether that’s Pantsuit or something else, I hope to hear both of your voices on the public stage because it’s so so so important to have people like you here to make sure us, the masses, are properly educated and informed. HUGS AND LOVE TO ALL ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
