OMG this takes me back to my (a decade more than your) college male BFF trio and where we are today, marching our way through the #paninigeneration and peeking at what life will be when we can be the fun grandparents with the new littles, and all the pressure that also brings. Will post a picture when I'm able.
I want Sarah to know she inspired me with her book club!! I have a dear male friend from high school (class of 1987!) and we have always been in contact and have traveled a few times together but we are STARTING A BOOK CLUB! We were texting the other day and I mentioned something about what I was reading and one thing led to another and he was totally up for a virtual book club. He wants to read more for pleasure and is hoping this spurs him to do so. We have our first Zoom scheduled for Thursday night to talk about our book selection with another high school friend and we're hoping to corral one more. (It would be 2 males and 2 females if that pans out.) I am just so excited to have this way to stay more closely connected to all of them. Sarah and her male friends book club was my inspiration. Thank you!!
I loved this episode! So fun to hear the banter between all of you. I have a guy friend that I have known since kindergarten and we went to school together from then through four years of college. He’s my ‘brother from another mother’ and I value his friendship so much and in a different way than my other friendships.
I loved this episode! I have a friend group from college with my girlfriend and two guys. We have a group chat where we send each other voice messages each week to catch up. Two of us live in different parts of the state but try to all get together
anytime there is an occasion bringing someone to our shared college town where two of us live. It’s truly something to treasure.
Yes to whichever of them said the US needs to be more than 1 country. I’ve said this before but I think about the bonus episode from 2019 (?) about the split of the United Methodist Church all the time. Sarah and Beth were talking about how maybe the UMC is a microcosm of the US and maybe divorce is the only way forward…
Loved this episode! This is a bit grim but I had a male best friend I made my freshman year of college - we were truly platonic besties and I believe he was one of the great loves of my life (in a friend way!!). He ended up passing away a year after college ended and listening to this makes me wonder where our friendship could’ve ended up years and years down the road. I’m 30 now and miss him everyday. Cherish those friendships!!! 💝
My best friend from college, and the only one who I still have regular contact with, is a guy. We almost dated and had to get over that awkwardness freshman year, but since then we’ve been good. I think there is a richness to realizing that anyone can be friend material, and not limiting yourself based on gender. At the end of the day, people are just people.
Anyway, I got to meet up with my friend in Cincinnati right before the PP live show. It was a marvelous night 🙂
I guess I’m the odd person out. I subscribe for political commentary not this. I’m a little disappointed in the offerings this week with what’s happening here in our country.
To Sarah’s comment about their trip being the “best girls trip ever”…I was just on a girls weekend and was the 4th of 7 to arrive. My friends who were already there said “Oh good! Dorothy’s here. Tell us which rooms everyone should sleep in. You’re good at decisions.” I am so proud to be the decisive person that doesn’t do the “I could sleep in a bathtub” for my friend group. 😆

Loved hearing your two friends, Sarah! And I loved that you just made them be friends with you. I get that!!!!
Did I miss the part where the book club was explained? Is it a book club with only the three of them?
yes, that’s what I’ve understood from past times Sarah mentioned it!

Sarah & Beth were both away in Switzerland this week so that’s why the content was more evergreen than related to current goings on.
I need a book club how to for friends/family

Loved listening to this episode this morning! Something refreshing to listen to that included lots of laughs! Thank you!
Loved this episode so much! You can feel the love between the three of you. Thank you for giving us a little glimpse into your friendship!
Yay! I was hoping this episode would get rescheduled
